New Children's Personalised Range
I've been having great fun working on our new woodland range of personalised children's aprons, personalised cushions and personalised children's bags! I absolutely love the fabric - the colours and the patterns are a delight to work with - I hope you like them as much as we do. Our model Leah is so lovely to work with and growing so fast - soon she'll be onto our next size of aprons.  My colour coordination was a complete coincidence - and definitely unintended! We'll ..
Get ready, get set...and bake!
We had great fun at our photoshoot for our new handmade personalised aprons, with our favourite local photographer Becky from enamayphotography Julie and her gorgeous daughter Leah were super patient and we think the resulting photos are fantastic. Becky even managed to take a sneaky picture of Jules who's normally safely hidden behind either a sewing machine or the iron! We hope you like our new Christmas Robin aprons - they are lovely to make and feel very festive ..
Our new shades of grey
We've been busy adding a new colour to our range which we hope will appeal to everyone. We love these soft tones of grey which look lovely coupled with either muted pink sprigs or strikingly bold patterns. We've introduced a new collection of personalised cushions which have a more grown up look to them and would be a perfect gift for any age. We'll be adding aprons to this range very soon as we think they will prove to be very popular.   ..
Appliqué Work
Appliqué Work - 26/04/2015
My favourite thing to make has to be my appliqués - I love the close up attention to detail that is required  - from designing the template and cutting out the fabric - to carefully sewing them onto cotton. It's taken me lots of practice to perfect them as they can be very fiddly to do and it's easy to make a mistake with a wobbly line or two! I like the fact that no two appliqués ever turn out exactly the same, so each and every order made is completely unique. ..
New fabric for our Personalised New Baby Boy Cushions
It's always hard to find new fabric that will work well on our personalised cushions for boys - especially something eye catching, with a small enough pattern to work with our appliqué patterns. So it was lovely to discover the shooting star fabric which we have used on our boat design and on our star design personalised cushions. We're also trying some lovely new blue star fabric to run alonside our long established spotty fabrics that have become a bit of an Angelcake Designs tr..
Head to Toe
Head to Toe - 15/07/2014
It's been a real treat to see our aprons in Head to Toe's window - Head to Toe is a great gift shop on Peebles highstreet and a place well worth a visit if you're ever in Peebles. Caroline sells the most eclectic range of all things gorgeous from sweet smelling soaps to handcrafted jewellry to Angelcake Designs aprons! I don't stock my range in any other shops at the moment as I much prefer making to order and I just don't have enough hands to keep up with trade orders too, but..
Where does time go..?
Can't quite believe how time is flying this year and that we are well into our school holidays up here in Scotland already. It's been a busy old time here at Angelcake Designs with the launch of our new bike range. It's something I've been thinking about and working on for some time and it's a range I've loved designing. It's the first time I've dipped my toe into the world of graphic design and it's been a rather steep learning curve! I'll be working to expand the range over the next few mon..
New Camera
New Camera - 31/03/2014
I've just splashed out and bought a great new camera to take product shots for the website which I'm thrilled to bits with. After surfing the web for weeks and weeks and generally boring everyone senseless I eventually decided to visit John Lewis' for some much needed advice on which camera would be best for me. The service was amazing as always and I duly left with a fantastic camera. It's a Lumix LX7 and I've just spent the weekend playing around with the manual settings to see what ..
Got to start somewhere...
I've been umming, aahhing and generally dithering about writing a blog for ages and really wasn't sure where to start. But at long last I have decided to shut my eyes, take a deep breath and here first ever blog!  It's been a busy few months since Christmas. I expected things to slow down a bit in January and February after the manic festive season but it's turned out to be a busy time with lots of orders for personalised cushions - lots of new bab..
