I've been umming, aahhing and generally dithering about writing a blog for ages and really wasn't sure where to start. But at long last I have decided to shut my eyes, take a deep breath and here goes...my first ever blog!

It's been a busy few months since Christmas. I expected things to slow down a bit in January and February after the manic festive season but it's turned out to be a busy time with lots of orders for personalised cushions - lots of new babies being born in the dark months of this new year. I never get fed up making the cushions - although the main designs are the same, each one is very personal and it's lovely to know that they are being made to celebrate such a special time. I get sent some great thank you emails too which are always very much appreciated.

In between making personalised cushions, laundry bags and aprons I've been busy working on new designs and trying to source new fabrics and buttons. I had a great trip to Amsterdam in January visiting the fabric markets and amazing collectors fairs. I managed to pick up some beautiful vintage mother of pearl buttons and some fantastic vintage linens.

It's been great fun working on new card and mounted picture designs - it's lovely to work on a smaller scale than my other things as it's a great way to use up small bits of fabric that I have stored away.

I've just had a massive clear out too - my workroom gets really messy and chaotic when I'm busy with bits of fabric everywhere. So that's been great while it lasts....!
